    The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is the state agency responsible for regulating billboards and outdoor advertising in Missouri. It is the policy of the state of Missouri that the erection and maintenance of outdoor advertising in areas adjacent to the interstate system, and highways classified as Federal Aid Primary as of June 1, 1991, and rules and regulations promulgated by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
